These nutrients may not occur naturally in waste and a lack of these nutrients may seriously inhibit the bacteria's growth and reproduction. Essential nutrients are added to our bacterial digestants. They are like the vitamins and minerals that the human body uses.
The bacteria contained in our bacterial digestants are carefully selected, beneficial bacteria that occur in the environment. The bacteria in our digestants are of the Bacillus species and are able to consume waste in both the aerobic (requires oxygen to live) and anaerobic (doesn't require oxygen to live) conditions. This versatile strain of bacteria also have other desirable characteristics:
Bacillus bacteria :
- consume organic waste faster than the bacteria naturally present in the waste
- grow and reproduce fast and easy
- are non-pathogenic (won't cause disease in man or animal)
- don't produce foul odors or obnoxious gases as they digest waste
